The day-long event will focus on best practices for clergy and religious leaders to empower and protect their congregations and communities through disaster preparedness. The agenda includes guest speakers and experiential learning through a "tabletop" exercise interspersed with training briefs provided by trainers with expertise in various aspects of disaster response and preparedness. The tabletop exercise has been developed with Disaster Chaplaincy Services and the NYC Office of Emergency Management. There will also be a resource room with disaster planning and response materials displayed.
The event is free - breakfast and lunch will be provided.
