Crisis & Emergency Risk Communication (CERC)

In cooperation with the DOHMH and the FSCPP Advisory Board, NYDIS offers online and in-person emergency communication exercises for religious leaders and decision makers from NYC congregations, religious (judicatory) bodies, and faith-based nonprofits. Based on NYDIS’ HOWalert system, the virtual part of the exercise was developed to test the Faith Sector’s ability to rapidly communicate with congregants, staff, and clients during a life-threatening public health emergency. The in-person training offers an introduction to the disaster lifecycle and an orientation to NYDIS’ Faith Sector Communications Framework, including guidance on how to create a Continuity Of Operations Plan (COOP), and create and implement an Incident Command System.
